A payment to veterans with disabilities stemming from diseases/injuries that were obtained during activity duty service. The amount received depends on how severe the disability is. 

A payment to a surviving family member, often a spouse or child, of a soldier who died while serving in the military or who died as a result of disabilities obtained from active duty.

A payment for additional medical assistance, such as a personal aid, or for a certain disability (loss of limb use).

 A payment for other essential needs, such as for an ineligibility to be employed, hospitalization, or automobile or clothing allowances.
